Dukas: The Sorcerer's Apprentice
Dukas: The Sorcerer's Apprentice
Hurry up, only 1 item left in stock.
Originally a poem from the late 1700s by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, and revised a century later by French composer Paul Dukas who created a musical piece, or "scherzo," that uses themes and instrumentation to "narrate" the story of an apprentice who tries to bring brooms to life while his master is away. This story later became the inspiration for Disney's famed full-feature animated film, Fantasia. This album contains a unique story version created especially for this release by three accomplished specialists in children's entertainment. Instead of using over two dozen musicians usually required to perform the piece, musical director Jim Timmens scaled it down to kid size to better accompany the narration of Marshall Izen. Previously released on Columbia Records in 1969, this is the first time this release has been made available on CD., ISBN13:B001HY3BOU ISBN10:B001HY3BOU Material Type:audioCD
