Already veterans of the rocking Pacific Northwest club scene when they became 16 magazine regulars in the mid-1960s, Paul Revere and the Raiders were one of America's powerhouse bands. With Stones-derived blasts such as "Just Like Me," "The Great Airplane Strike," and "Good Thing," frontman Mark Lindsay and confreres almost accidentally built a great body of work while just trying to score hits. The only clinker here is "Melody for an Unknown Girl," a cheesy ballad that Lindsay apparently sneaked in as a joke. Had to be, right? --Rickey Wright, ISBN13: B0000025E8 ISBN10: B0000025E8 Material Type: audioCD
